Thinking

A blog is a place where one learns to think, plan and reflect. A blog forces one to read in order to gather the knowledge needed for every blog post. Because of weekly blog posting, I am able to play with technology, create ideas, and collaborate with others on those ideas. I, plus many of my fellow classmates, suffered from being procrastinators in the past, but the set weekly blog post requirements have taught us the importance of turning assignments in on time. I have also learned better time management skills since AP English is definitely demanding. Over all, blogs have given me an opportunity to discover my personal interest in blogging, or writing in general. I feel a sense of satisfaction when I have finished writing a personal blog post, and I feel accomplished when classmates respond to my posts. By researching important issues and throwing my opinion out there for the public to read, I ultimately have come out as a growing reader, thinker, writer, and socialist.

When Mrs. Huff told my classmates and me that we were all going to create an ePortfolio for our semester exam in our AP English 11 class, the first thought that came to mind was what would I do to make my project stand out? My classmates and I had the option either to make our project on a PBwiki application, or to create a web page using moonfruit.com. However, I had no idea which application would help me create a more appealing ePortfolio. After giving it some thought and playing around with both moonfruit and PBwiki, I made the decision that moonfruit.com was more suited for the goals I set to accomplish with this project. With more graphics and freedom to do what I want, moonfruit helped me evaluate and select the appropriate data needed for my ePortfolio.

Here is a Picture of The Facebook Homepage

During the past summer, the AP English 11 students, which include me, had to complete several different summer assignments. These summer assignments involved tasks such as commenting on a discussion board over our summer read. But how could any of us know how to properly respond to a discussion board without any previous knowledge of one? FACEBOOK. A large percentage of high school students operate a facebook, and communicate with one another through their walls.
